After a lot of grilling and thinking how and from where to start I came up with an idea to start with rocks and shells as Rococo is from Rocks and Shells only!!!

Material board

Material board

A material board is a reflection of which material is going to be used in final product.

Here it is what I did in my material board, I explored different materials while working on my material board. I used POP, clay, m-ceal and sand with carving and engraving on them to show Rococo architecture. Different types of fabrics for eg. Silk, velvet, brocade, woollen having floral patterns, and motifs of shells were used in that time.

Mood board

Mood Board

You all must be thinking what is a mood board?? So here it is a mood board is typically a collage of images, fonts, colours, textures and samples of objects that define the style of the project. It serves as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall "feel" of an idea or proposed proposed product.

The first thing came to my mind about Rococo was that it'll be like other art movements- boring history, dull colours, etc but Rococo was different.
While researching and doing brainstorming I got to know it is so colourful, joyful, so elite, sensuous and playful.
And my mood board came out  to be very colourful and cheerful.

Colour board

Colour Board

"Colours speak all languages"
First of all let me tell u what is a colour board-
A colour board consists of one or many colour which are going to be used in final product. It may consist one or more images.

Rococo is very colourful, the colours are very light, feminine and whimsical.
The board contains colours relate it to Rococo architecture.
Architecture contradicts generic assumptions about being dead boring in greys. But let me tell you this 18th century architecture is bright yellows, greens, pinks, reds, golds and many more. But they do float back to the occasional greys and browns.

Inspiration board

My Inspiration Board

An inspiration board is more specific and visual. a collection of visuals references that are the starting point for elements that will eventually show up in the deigned products.

One can get inspire from anywhere and anything.
Just like people got inspired from rocks and shells and a new art movement came "ROCOCO".
What inspired me the most to take this topic was the light-hearted theme, the curves, its playfulness, uniqueness, the way it went against the narrow minded people, the stiffness and boldness of baroque.
And in that the architecture was most inspiring, the way the palaces were built, the carvings and the sculptures are amazing.

The Sans-Souci palace is what I made my inspiration board on. The bright colors, the sculptures in Chinese house and ceilings are fabulous.
The use of Chinoiserie motifs was done in great manner.
