First day of our field trip......
We started our journey by visiting the village and fort area first. The narrow lanes lead us to the village. We found variations in the village itself. There were mud houses, houses made of wood logs, and concrete too.
The ambience of the area was totally different from the outer area, there was children playing on the roads, women sitting and talking in groups, few people busy in their work.
While observing we saw an iron man and some other people and we thought of talking to him so that we can get more information about the village and Hauz Khas, hence we went to him and asked few questions-
For how many years he is living there? What Hauz Khas looked at first when the shops were not there? Does the development of market affect their life's?
What is his source of income? About his house, etc.
At first they were hesitant to say anything but slowly and steadily they told us about everything what we wished to know.
The answers which we got was beyond what we expected as in they are living on rents, they don't have their own houses and the shocking part was the amount they are paying for the house 5-6000 Rs per month!!!!
I mean this much of rent and no proper facilities, huh!!
While talking to them we also got to know about one more problem which is really a BIGG issue which is of WATER SHORTAGE.
This is major problem they are facing, though they have proper facility of electricity the water issue is much more of concern.
Talking to them was really good, we got to know about their life's, they were really generous and we felt really lucky and happy to found that group who helped us in our research☺☺☺
