Roaming in the village we met a girl, Ritika..
She came to us and asked what we were doing, she was so interested in our research and project. She helped us a lot , she showed us the village and told us about her experiences and her aspirations.
She told us that she wants to become an English Teacher👩📕
She was a great help for us!! And meeting her seemed awesome when she told us that there is a NGO in the village. that was our Jackpot!! and the best part was no other group has the information of the NGO 😀😎.
FAMILY HEALTH AND EDUCATION better known as Muskaan is the NGO situated in the village.
The NGO is set up by Dr. Josephine Kunnacherry with the sole purpose of GIRL EMPOWERMENT.
The NGO is only for the girls of the village, the NGO is providing EDUCATION, MEDICAL FACILITIES, EXCLUSIVES to the girls.
There was a time when the girls were under discrimination, they were treated poorly as compared to their brothers. They were not provided clothes, food and education.
To overcome this inequality this NGO was being set up. Girls of the age from 5-15 comes to Muskaan, they are given education there, they are provided with bags, books, shoes and clothes at minimum cost and sometimes for free too, so that everyone is able to get the benefit.
Now the girls are treated equally as the boys all becoz of the NGO😇.
The NGO has given a new hope and direction to the girls, they now can dream for their future and I'm sure that someday their dreams will come true and their lives will be happy as other's.😊
