U must be thinking why I put a picture of lake above, so let me tell u this lake is the origin of what we know as Hauz Khas today.
Hauz means 'water tank' and Khas means 'Royal' which makes it Royal Water Tank.
This tank was built by Allauddin Khilji to supply water to Siri fort residents.

As time passed by the condition of the tank/lake worsened, but was reconstructed by Firuz Shah Tughlaq.

There's a tomb of Firuz Shah Tughlaq.

The architecture of the tomb is very intresting, on the ceiling and the walls  Islamic inscriptions are there in the form of design.

He did a lot for the local residents. One great job was to built Madrasa- a place where for islamic teaching for the children.

And Now it became a historic place which is visited by many tourists and foreigners.
Today the entire place is known as Hauz Khas which is mostly known by its market.

Many designers has opened their stores there. Hauz Khaz is one of the most visited and most liked place by the youth, the high class people, the professionals, etc.
But still the HEART of the place lies in the Huaz Khas Complex.
